Cutting Cords With Toxic People

Cutting Cords With Toxic People

Hey OM Family!

Toxic people are a reality of life.

They can be relatives, co-workers, or even friends.

Some people are toxic because of the way they were raised, from abuse, trauma, or an unmet need. Some may have an actual mental disorder such as addiction, narcissism or sociopathy.

Or in some cases, these individuals may have a karmic or spiritual reason for behaving badly.

Regardless of the reason, it’s a universal law that we are all ultimately responsible for ourselves and our actions. There’s no “get out of jail free card” when it comes to how we treat others.

Does Source offer us agape (unconditional love) and grace? Of course. And unabashed forgiveness. But we are still accountable for the way we act.

And not to put too fine a point on it…

The fact is that many of us have suffered deep wounds at the hands of others, and we still choose love and kindness in all our interactions. We may still deal with conflict in our lives, but we do so with high vibes and full hearts.

We can reinforce boundaries and still be kind.

Cutting cords with toxic people can be difficult. And this can mean different things to different people.

For some it may be physically removing a toxic person from their life. For others, it may mean severely limiting any interactions to preserve their mental health and peace.

On a purely spiritual level, it means removing the toxic person’s attached energy and sending it back to them. And then reclaiming your own power.

There’s a simple prayer I say to cut cords with people or energy. It’s brief and straightforward, yet incredibly powerful.

Just say these words after any unpleasant encounter with a toxic person, in a place where you have privacy and feel safe:

“I cut any cords, known or unknown, that I may have.

I return any energy that doesn’t belong to me, back to where it needs to go.

I call back all my own energy to me through my Crown Chakra, so I can be present in my body, full of my own energy.

I ask before my energy grounds back in my body that it’s cleansed by the Creator's white golden light.

Amen.”

You can also find this prayer on my YouTube channel here.

Remember, it’s your Divine right to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of the circumstances. You can choose love and to take back your power in the same decision.

In light & love,

Michelle
